All Wood Submarine Model Painted with Fine Detail WWII Era

A wonderful and finely done WWII Era, all wood display model of a Submarine. I believe this is a model I 52 which I think is a German Design, but I am not an expert on Military submarines. If you know what this design is, please contact me so I can correct my mistake.
The model has some age, I would guess, 15-20 years old, the estate did not know when they got it.
Some damage to the top rigging, the wood tower broke off, but the piece is still attached to the metal line. the guns and lights are intact firmly to the model.
Some minor paint loss and scraps to the lower portion of the boat.
Size: 30” x max 7” tall 9 (tower antennas).
