A Pictorial History of The American Circus by John and Alice Durant, published in 1957 by A. S. Barnes and co. and bound in leather by the Brown and Bigelow, Saint Paul Minn.
This history was the one of the best books at the time on the long and visual history of the American Circus. Full of reproduction full color posters, rare Black and White Photos of circuses and performers as well as reproductions of early broadsides.
Still a great read and a wonderful introduction to the the history of American Circus.
This is the rare and early, 1st edition of this book bound in Leather by the Brown and Bigelow Co in 1957.

Condition: Some edge wear and rubbed leather corners as well as some shelf wear to the spine. Please see the photos for a visual description. The inside as some marks, one page has soiling and paint, I have photographed this page. Binding is tight.
