Aesthetic Movement Stand Ebonized Wood Circa 1890's Japanese Style Lacquered Posts

Aesthetic Movement: Art for Art Sake, this stand tells and shows just that. The cultured look of the "far off Orient", utilizing the creative and beauty of the Japanese art, the dark Ebonized wood and the lacquered look of the supports. The ancient Classical structure of the Greeks, you can see this in the base, the shape reminds me of the ancient Egypt's obelisk.
All this is what the Aesthetic movement taught us and strive for and achieves in this stand.
The black marble is replaced and is not original but fits and works perfectly in this stand.

Size: 42" tall x 13 1/4" x 13 1/4" x 16" square base
Condition: fine with minor veneer lifting on the base and small chip. Ebonozed wood on the under pediment is slightly worn. Minor bumps to the base. Marble is near perfect. Please see images for details.
