Antique Real Human Bone Teaching Specimen with Hand Written Labels 
Circa early 1900's, this teaching specimen has hand written labels of each bone.
Wired together with hand painted labels. 

History of the medical teaching aids goes back to the beginning of science and the collecting of bones, skulls, hands, feet etc goes back as far as humans. Either collected and displayed to honor, to frighten or to teach, collecting of bones is a time honored tradition. 
Scientific discovery and teaching of human anatomy has been a tradition, either in paintings, prints and or objects and this display of the human foot is no different. 
The foot is labeled with each bone, each bone is connected with a wire to keep these small bones in place showing how each bone makes up the foot.

Condition: very fine. Appears to have been updated on labels in spots and the color appears to be not original or was altered at some point. The wiring of the foot is original. Please see the images for more details.
