Art Deco era pencil drawing of nude woman holding apple.
The stylized allegorical drawing of a nude standing inside tall grass/ flower holding a apple is typical of the art deco era. The Grass/ flower is almost a version of birth of a phoenix but the with the woman signifying the rebirth of beauty and innocence. The apple of course is taken from the story of Adman Eve and the apple showing the forbidden fruit of knowledge.
The medium is a pencil/ graphite on thin art board, please see the details of the drawing and details of the New York Art supply store label on the back of the board.
Size: 16" x 25"
Condition: some soiling and the edges of the board has some chipping. This does not effect the image or detail of the drawing. Small tear to the board on the bottom, please see images for details.
NOTE:
This piece is in the frame that the estate had it in, it is not original to the piece but fits well with the gold paint over the oak frame. Please see images of the frame.
