Circa Late 1800's Japanese Shakudo Meiji Period Hatpin Stickpin

Meiji Period in Japanese art was a huge inspiration to early Impressionist and spurred the artisans of the Japanese to produce pieces of exquisite quality in small and large items.
The process of Shakudo, a mixed metal technique of Bronze, gold and silver to add texture and depth was used on objects from Vases, decorative exports, traditional items such as sword hardware and countless other objects.

Meiji Period: October 23, 1868 to July 30, 1912
