Circa 1890's Tintype of Poo African American In Bowler Hat

The Young man poses in clothes that have seen many days and work, the man is young and poor. The Bowler hat at this time was popular in young crowds of lower economic bracket, from African American to immigrants to gangs. One such gang was the Plug Uglies who were know for wearing bowler hats.
The Bowler Hat was popular with the British, Irish, and American working classes during the remaining 19th century.

Size: 2 1/4 x 3 3/8 inches
Condition: Some surface marks on the image. The image is dark and some details at the bottom are lost. Crisp details in the man’s face and clothes. Please see images for details.
