Antoni Tapies was a Spanish painter, sculptor and art theorist, (13 December 1923 – 6 February 2012). Tapies became an artist post WWII, with his art growing in Catalan Nationalism and .." 1966 he was arrested at a clandestine assembly at the University of Barcelona; his work of the early 1970s is marked by symbols of Catalan identity (which was anathema to Franco).[8] In 1974 he made a series of lithographs called Assassins and displayed them in the Galerie Maeght in Paris, in honour of regime critic Salvador Puig Antich's memory. From about 1970 (influenced by Pop art) he began incorporating more substantial objects into his paintings, such as parts of furniture."

The Derriere Le Mirroir has always been part of the artist's Catalogue Raisonne, with quality and precise lithographs of the artists work. Each issue was done with the artist and the publisher making these issues and the individual lithographs sought after and the Miro is exceptional. The lithographs have bold and vibrant colors with deep rich black. 

Size: Folio, 11 x 15 in Portfolio with  original lithographs.
Condition: Cover has very light bumped corners, left side has small bump and a tiny blemish, please see the image of this area. Very light soil from storage and faint toning at the top, very faint. Corners have very small bumps. Back has very light bumped corners. Inside the pages are very fine with no damage to the lithos except for tiny edge bumps, very minor.
