Eloise Hampton Wilson Etching Signed in Pencil Setting Tomatoes WPA Era and Style

Eloise Hampton Wilson (American 1906-1994)
Goucher Site,"Wilson's work depicts men in action--physiques grown solid and muscular through physical labor, but moving with the fluid grace of purposeful activity while setting tomato plants or repairing a telephone line. Her appreciation of the skill, effort and concentration of people who work with their hands is evident. Perhaps as an artist she identified with them, even though by upbringing and education she was of a different social class."

A fine impression of her WPA era work, circa 1930's-40's titled lower left Setting Tomatoes
