Franz Von Bayros Ein Tag Der Guillotine Mappe Folio Heliogravure circa 1920's Erotica Limited ed.

The Marquis Franz Von Bayros (1866-1924), the Austrian artist, painter and illustrator

In 1904, Bayros gave his first exhibition in Munich, which was a great success. From 1904 until 1908, Bayros traveled to Paris and Italy for his studies. Returning Vienna, he felt himself a stranger. The outbreak of the First World War was yet another setback for Bayros. The artist died on April 2, 1924 from a cerebral hemorrhage.

Edition: Published by Ed. Strache, Wien, Prag, Leipzig, this is the specimen n. 285 on a total circulation of 500 prints.

Series: From Mappe, a portfolio of 50 original prints (héliogravure or cliché from watercolors, of which 14 are colored) made around 1921 by Choisy Le Conin pseudonym of Franz Von Bayros, with a preface of von Rudolph Hans Bartsch.

Condition: very fine with minor aging to the backing board. Slight edge bumps and wear. The original glassine is intact and in very good condition. Please see the images provided for a visual description.
