George Baxter Print Dated Feb 25 1856 Tite " A Mountain Stream"

George Baxter was the inventor of this amazing printing process named after him, The Baxter Process. He would use up to 40 different plates to achieve the rich color and detail in his prints. This print is titled "A Mountain Stream" and is stamped dated on the lower left " Published Feb 25 1856 by G. Baxter Proprietor and Patenee London".
The print is is two native semi nude women with a small child by a majestic and lush vegetation. Holding the print at a slight angle show the multiple layers of colors. On further detail viewing you can see the delicate overlay of color. The piece has paper tape holding the thick board type paper in place. The matt has written in pencil the title and has a signature of George Baxter. This matt is circa 1930's so I believe this can not be a period signature. The printed image is approx. 11" x 15".
