Inuit Carved Seal From Bone Whale or Seal Bone Fossilized Canada or Alaska Region

Inuit Carved Seal From Bone and from Canada or Alaska region. 
Age is unknown but no signs of modern tools and the patina on the bone shows extensive aging. The bone appears to possibly fossilized. 

Carved bone, either whale or seal, this carved Inuit piece has hand tool marks. Similar Inuit pieces can be seen as example, the back flippers are very close to other Inuit seals. No history from the family is available and no known family members have Inuit descendants. The estate traveled extensively and where part of the military in the 1950's up till the 1970's. 

The weight is heavy, 6.92 oz. 
The seal is carved from one piece of bone

Size: 7 1/2 inches long

Condition: fine with small chips on the mouth and at the points. Please see the images for more details.
