Kunichika Triptych 1876 Travelers Beside a Palanquin Framed Ukiyo-e Woodblock Framed

Title: Travelers Beside a Palanquin
year: 1876
"kabuki scene of three travelers beside a palanquin. The fellow at left leans forward with a small ticket or tiny message in his hand, frowning as he looks up at the samurai in the center. The samurai regards him with a solemn expression, his brows slightly furrowed. He carries a wooden practice sword over his shoulder with a bundle of white cloth and a piece of armor wrapped around it. One of the swords at his side is covered with white cloth. The beauty at right smiles eagerly as she tucks one hand into her kimono."

Kunichika is best known for his bold full color background woodblocks of Kabuki actors and is considered one of the last masters of the traditional style of ukiyo-e woodblock prints. 

Size: Oban triptych
Condition: Framed in a 1980's frame, light wear and age but the colors are still bold. Some light fading to the red but still presents great. Please see the images for more details.

This piece is framed behind glass and I have not taken it out of the frame.
