Ninth Plate Ambrotype Ukrainian Woman in Black Dress Crisp Image
A fine 1/9 plate Ambrotype image of young woman. Her dark styled hair and clothing is appears to be Ukrainian. The pattern of the dress and jacket are similar to style of that region.
Some hand coloring to the ring which was common at this time.
A very good image and will add to your collection.
The hing to the case is intact with a circa early 1860's ornate mat and preserver.
Size: Ninth Plate: 2 x 2.5 inches (5 x 6 cm)
Condition: Fine, strong crisp image, minor image loss at the left side from the metal mat rubbing. No seals on the image. The case has some rubbing and appears to be be slightly age faded. The red felt as small tear. Please see images for details.
