Ninth Plate Size Tintype of Man Facial Features Look African American

A tintype of a man that I cant quite place. I don't know if his features are odd or that the camera captured and distorted his features.
Either way, I really like this simple Tintype.

Size: Ninth Plate: 2 x 2.5 inches (5 x 6 cm)
Condition: the hing to the case is worn and is holding on by threads. The image is fine and slightly faded but still good. A little emulsion damage to the lower right side and minor abrasions to the image, only visible when held at a angle.
