Original Leon Dolice Pastel New York City Street Scene Circa 1930s

Leon Dolice (1892 - 1960), born in Vienna and immigrated to the United States in 1920.
He documented the city scape and people of the New York City. His style fits with the art of his contemporaries such as Harold Faye, Carlos Anderson and was guided by the George Luks and Herb Roth. Both important artist of New York scene with George Luks being a major figure in the Ashcan School of art.
Leon Dolice’s work on paper, which he moved from plate etchings to the medium of pastels, which shows a beauty and almost haunting quality of New York City.
The estate has three pieces and two will be for sale now.

Condition: small tear on the left side, mended on the reverse with tape
