Photograph of Famous Infielder Buck Herzog Throwing First Ball American Hammered Baseball 1940's

Buck Herzog (July 9, 1885 – September 4, 1953) who played for four National League clubs between 1908 and 1920, was Infielder and a Manager. He played for the New York Giants, the Boston Braves, the Cincinnati Reds, and the Chicago Cubs.
One of early Baseball figures who lived and died in Baltimore Md.
Here is throwing the first ball out for the WWII era baseball team and Factory Team of Baltimore, American Hammered Piston Ring Co. The company located in Baltimore helped with the war effort and made Piston Rings for the US Naval Ships. The company, like most in that time had a recreational Baseball team held their organized games even during war time.
Buck Herzog who lived a majority of his time in Baltimore is throwing the first game out on May 5th.
The writing says: " Buck Herzog Pitching the first ball for American Hammered at the opening of the season- May 5"
The photo is an original as well as the writing. the size is approx. 8 x 10 and the condition is good with a minor hole on the lower left and some aging to the paper. The back is soiled but does not effect the image or historical importance of this image.
