RARE!! 1945 Presto Model K-8 Record Lathe Cutter 33 1/3 and 78 RPM Cutterhead
Circa 1945 Presto Model K-8 Record Cutting Lathe.
New Tubes and Caps and new power cord and has been serviced about 3-4 years ago.
Note the cuterhead is original and not restored
The playback tone arm is not working and is not hooked up.
The mic input has not been cleaned, my client has been using the radio input to record some of his works.
Also included is a photocopy of the original instructions, electrical diagrams on the machine and 4 pages of parts and part numbers.
Also a sapphire cutter needle and also an assortment of cutter needles
The Rubber platter band is not not dry rotted or dented, a dented rubber belt with cause the record lathe to jump.
78 RPM adapter is original to the machine.

Cuts 78 RPM and 33 1/3 RPM discs
Condition: this is an old machine and it has been serviced but there are quirks with any old Tube electronics. The Speaker works and sounds great. The case shows signs of use but is still in very good condition.
"PRESTO Recording Corporation was an important company in the broadcast and recording industry, and most radio stations and networks that made use of disc recorders for delayed broadcast, or air checks, etc., were users of PRESTO EQUIPMENT. All of the major broadcast network headquarters, as well as many recording studios used PRESTO recorders."
