RARE 1920's Art Deco CAMERON CAUTERADIO Model 0 Cauterizing Machine w/ Art Deco Stand Quack Machine
Art Deco Cameron Quack Medical Device with an amazing Art Deco Stand!
Size: 41" tall x 11 1/2" wide
Condition: As you can see , the glass power tube is broken, cord is rotted. Minor chipping to the aluminum case's black paint. The chrome is worn and will need to be cleaned
From Original Press release: "Cameron Cauteradio - Model O Cameron Surgical Specialty Company, Chicago, U.S.A.
"This instrument provides the Physician, Surgeon, and Specialist with an Electro-Scalpel & Coagulator for office use at a reasonable price. The Model "O" is thoroughly practical for all minor surgery and light major surgery of the eye, ear, nose, throat, skin, vagina, and rectum. It is completely equipped for monopolar cutting, monopolar coagulating, bipolar coagulating, desiccating, dehydrating and fulgurating in the office and clinic. Healing is usually by primary union, abd cell destruction can be limited in depth to less than one-quarter of millimeter, with the tissue never charred except when desired as in desiccating. The capillaries are sealed during cutting, and hemostatic coagulation with the use of the ball coagulation electrode controls profuse bleeding. There is little danger of recurrent hemorrhage, and surgical trauma is minimized due to the lessened sponging, suturing and ligating required. The Cauteradio has the obvious advantage of a dry, fully exposed field and provides precision in surgery, which is possible because the cutting and coagulation current can be instantly and accurately controlled during the operation. The instrument will never shock, short circuit the patient or burn the operator......"
