Robert D'Arista Oil Portrait of Woman From Estate of Original Owner 1929-1987 Washington DC

Robert D'Arista, American 1929-1987 was trained at New York University and Columbia University and moved later to Washington DC, circa 1960's and joined the faculty at American University, known as the A.U. school. He taught and served as chair of the American University Art Department from 1961 through 1984, and at Boston University until his death in 1987.
His style is haunting yet surreal approach, similar to Francis Bacon.

The painting is not titled or marked who the woman is but does have the gallery tag stating the painting is owned and loaned by Winthrop. This estate has given me the great privilege to sell this painting.

The painting is in it's original artist frame and has not been altered.
