Satsuma ware is originally from Satsuma Province, and later in the 19th C..."adapting their gilded polychromatic enamel overglaze designs to appeal to the tastes of western consumers, manufacturers of the latter made Satsuma ware one of the most recognized and profitable export products of the Meiji period."
One side has three warrior figures and the other side has a tranquil tree scene with the most striking greens. Fantastic Bold colors that seem to be only from Japan in the 19th C.
Size: 13 inches tall
Condition: fine with some gold loss to the satsuma, no cracks or breaks. Please see images provided for details.
