Signed Max Weber Wood Cut on Japon Paper 1950s from the Series Primitives, Poems and Woodcuts 1926 Primitive Mask

Max Weber (April 18, 1881 – October 4, 1961) American Artist

Max Weber (American, 1881–1961) was an early practitioner of Cubism in America. His art post cubist style later moves to a more expressionist fauvist style while the artist explores more religious themes. His simplified primitive woodcuts was a early series around 1920.

Originally done in and printed circa 1919-20 for a 1926 Spiral Press folio set. The japon paper editions, circa 1950’s, are pencil signed by the artist on the lower right margin. 
Signed in pencil, with full signature lower right. 
Thin cream colored Japan Paper

Size: image size is 4 3 /16 x 2 inches. Page size is 10 1/8 x 6 1/2 inches. 
Condition: Very fine with no marks to the image of the paper. Hinged with archival tape at the top left and right corners. Pencil notations on the bottom edge of paper. Please see the images for more details.
