Skull Tankard Gaudeamus Igitur West German Circa 1950's Graduation Tradition For Medical Schools

Gaudeamus Igitur "So Let Us Rejoice" or also known as "De Brevitate Vitae" (Latin for "On the Shortness of Life")  is a popular academic commercium song in many European countries, mainly sung or performed at university graduation ceremonies.
The Skull tankard was used for many years at graduations for Doctors. 
This West German made porcelain tankard kept the 19th tradition up. 

Made of Porcelain with a pewter fittings, stamped on the bottom Made in Western Germany.
