These Circa 1900 Stereo cards were a popular form of entertainment, providing a way to explore and to entertain. The original stereo cameras were in the created circa 1850's in France and were first on glass and later with the advancement of photography, they were printed on paper and mounted to heavy card stock.
There were many American Stereo Card companies, with Keystone, Underwood & Underwood, H. C. White and so many small and fly by night publishers.

Keystone (a subsidiary of Underwood and Underwood) was one of the most popular companies of the time producing sets of cards and individual cards of current events, historical places and strange and unusual images.
This one is marked No. 5 and is titled Nursing Wounded Heroes Back to Health, Convalescent Hospital No. 5 New York
The front of the card states, Y19227

Size: 3 1/2 x 7 inches
