Very Rare Late 19th Century Gorham Silver Marked Skull Gadget Cane Opium or Cocaine

I will be posting a collection of canes from a client. His collection ranges from System Canes to Highly Decorative Walking Sticks. I will have similar descriptions and a brief introduction to this collection to distinguish this form other estate collections I am working on.

Item: A Very Rare Late 19th C. Gadget Cane, used for Drugs, opium and or cocaine.
The cane is a very highly detailed Skull that hinges on the back side, which is marked with Gorham Silvers hallmaks and 925 and mold number.
The Gorham marks appear to be from circa 1850's-1870's, making this one of the more rare and highly collectable gadget canes.


Condition: VG, minor tarnish to the silver handle. Ebony Shaft, approx 34.5” ebony shaft
