Vintage Brass and Red Bakelite Spider Pin Broach Circa 1940s

The bug jewelry craze was big in the late Victorian into the Art Deco. The Revival of Art Deco style came back in the late 1930’s into the 1940’s.
Designed with more a modernist style this Spider is simplified with a large Red Bakelite style material on the back. Rub tested, the material does not have the baklalite smell but is a synthetic material  similar to Bakelite. 

The Spider pin would sit high off the fabric, almost 1” tall at the highest point.
The base metal is brass with no makers mark visible

Size: 1 3/4 long x 1” tall
Condition: very good with some light wear to the brass. I have not cleaned or altered this vintage pin in any way. The Red synthetic material is in great condition with no chips or breaks or damage.
