Vintage Circa 1950's Antonio Pineda Taxco Mexico Modernist 970 Silver Ring Cut Quartz
Antonio Pineda was one of the top and one of the most well know Taxo Mexico Silversmiths of the Mid 20th C.
Hallmarked with Antonio Crown 970 Silver and Eagle Stamp with 17
The stamps are bold and crisp with very fine definition.
The simple modernist design with the inset multi cut and faceted Quartz is simplicity and a perfect design showcasing this designers ability.
The quartz is a light bluish color.
Antonio Pineda: "Born into a native Taxco family, he studied painting and sculpture at the progressive Open Air School of Taxco. At age 14, he apprenticed at William Spratling’s recently founded, Taller de Las Delicias. It was there that Antonio learned the silversmith craft."
"His international recognition began in 1946 when his work appeared alongside that of Margaret De Patta and Georg Jensen at the California Palace of the Legion of Honor in San Francisco."
Size: approx ring size 7
Condition: Near perfect with minimal signs of use. I have not cleaned or altered the ring in any way. The Stone is secure. Please see the images for a visual description.
